The Watershed Route: A Regenerative Cycling Tour
Exploring the Living Watershed of Mexico City, Xochimilco
Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus (CCM)
Saturday, July 11
8:30–14:00
About the Experience
The Watershed Route is an immersive experience that invites participants to explore the relationship between mobility, territory, water, and culture in Mexico City. Through a recreational bike ride from Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Mexico City Campus to the canals of Xochimilco, participants will travel across part of the city’s historic lake basin, gaining insight into its landscapes, infrastructures, and socio-environmental challenges. The experience will be complemented by a traditional trajinera boat tour through the canals and a gastronomic proposal by Tilma-Lab that highlights the knowledge, flavors, and products rooted in the territory. This journey seeks to foster a deeper connection with the ecological and cultural systems that sustain urban life, promoting regenerative ways of inhabiting, moving through, and understanding the city.
